Big Girl Bed!

We decided to take the front rail off Mackenzie's bed and give her a chance at sleeping in a "big girl bed". She picked out her new sheets, blanket and pillowcase set. Princess, of course! The first night was interesting. She's a big mover in her sleep so I was pretty certain she would fall out. We put the couch cushions on the floor to break her fall when it happened. She did fall out the first night but neither of us realized it until Byron went in to check on her in the middle of the night. She was fast asleep...on the couch cushions! Last night she did good and did not fall out. The only downfall(in my mind) is that she has awakened much earlier both mornings!

Carnival time!

We were in Longmont the other day and there just happened to be a carnival going on in the mall parking lot. Mackenzie loves rides! She went on the Merry-Go-Round twice, the motorcycles, the train, these flying whales(see picture), the tea cups and the flying elephants. Do you know how hard it is to get a decent picture of a kid on a moving elephant?

The Latest Conquest

So Byron came home bright and early the other morning, waking me from a nice, pleasant sleep and asking me if I could come outside and take his picture. Huh?? Turns out he had a successful hike that morning and came home with a nice set of antlers and a turkey. Dead. Welcome to my life!

So, I think it's really funny that I created this blog about 5 months ago and then didn't do anything with it! Oops! It just proves the fact that life is busy and I can't always get it together. But I do think this will be a better way to show our pictures and keep you all updated with what it going on. I think once I get into it, it will go well. We have so many friends with wonderful looking blogs and I want to join their ranks. Enough blabbing for now and I will move on to my first "real" post~pictures and all!
