Snow!! In September!!

So, we woke up to snow on the morning of September 14! It was a crummy day...actually, it was pretty crummy all week. There really wasn't any more snow after the initial snowfall on Monday but it was pretty grey, cool and rainy for most of the week. But thankfully, we have recovered for now. Yesterday and today were quite beautiful even with a little wind (or a lot of wind at some points!).

Hot Springs

This is my first attempt at a video on the blog...hope it works! Mackenzie is quite the little fish in the water. She loves swimming and just decided the last time we went swimming to put her head under the water. It was totally her idea too!

Gone Camping

We headed back over to the Steamboat area a week and half ago (yes, we went 3 times this summer!) and decided that we would camp this time. Fun, but cold!! The nights got really chilly even though the days were gorgeous. We camped at Stagecoach Reservoir.

Got a little dark but our campsite is down there...

Byron and Kenzie out for an early morning cruise

Picked me up for a little fishing. No luck this day!

Daddy's Girl

I love taking pictures of these two...and they are usually both very willing!

Here Fishy, Fishy

Most wildlife pictures we take are with Byron in them but we managed to actually get a picture of me with a small mouth bass. We were fishing down at a place called Lone Tree in the Loveland area. It was a beautiful evening and I managed to skunk Byron 2-0!

Go Rockies!

I love baseball. I have loved baseball for a longtime. I find no problem sitting and watching a whole game. Byron and I went to Denver for a Rockies game when they were playing the LA Dodgers. Colorado was on something like a 9 game winning streak...until this game. We lost and then I think we lost the next 6 or something silly like that. I told Byron he was a bad luck charm!! But, it looks like we are playoff bound and that is really exciting!

Out for a Hike

This was out around Steamboat Springs. We spent the weekend there and did a little family fishing before heading home.

Once you get tired of fishing, you can always throw rocks!

Doing the limbo...

Mackenzie's attempt at taking a picture of mom and dad. I think it's hilarious that her finger is exactly over my face!

Family Self-Portrait

Friends

It's really hard to get these two together at the same time to take a halfway decent picture. But I managed it! Mackenzie and Isaac have a lot of fun together and even fight like brother and sister once in awhile!

Playing in the barn at the ranch

Not sure what they are doing...I think they were trying to hide!

From the mouths of babes...

So, Mackenzie has been saying some really funny things lately that I thought I would share. She has us laughing a lot. Some things we know she says because she hears us say them to her repeatedly. For example:

"Mom, just chill out!"
"You need to talk nicely."

Then there are the things she says out of the blue that are too funny!

After being at the playground~"Can you take the crumbs out of my shoes?"
Looking up at the sky~"The clouds look like potatoes."
Right before naptime~"Daddy, can you take me for a nap? Mommy's cranky."
Overheard in the other room with Byron~"Daddy, I put my panties on. Do you want some panties?"

So, there are lots of things that she says and we can't help but laugh. It also makes us very aware that little ears are listening!!

Horsetooth, from the boat!

I haven't taken many pictures of the boat or on the boat but these are a couple. This was at Horsetooth Reservoir, about an hour from where we live. It's a busy place with lots of skiers, and tubers so it makes it a little hard to fish. But they do have some nice sandy areas that you can pull off to and play in the sand and swim. And then you can have a nap on the way back to the dock...

HeavenFest

I had the chance to go to a music festival last month called HeavenFest. It was an outdoor festival that consisted of a bunch of different stages and a whole lot of different artists~I think around 80. We didn't go until later in the day because our main "interest" of the day was a Meet and Greet session with the band Third Day and then their part of the festival right after. I can not tell you how excited I was to get to meet Mac Powell and Third Day. I have been a fan of theirs from the beginning some 12 years ago. A HUGE thank you to Don and Sara for taking me along (they actually KNOW Mac~How crazy is that??).
