First Haircut!

Well, we did it! Mackenzie had her hair cut for the first time! Before anyone gets anxious, if I hadn't mentioned it, you wouldn't even know it. I think we took off maybe an inch. It cleaned up the bottom a little but was by no means drastic. Mackenzie was excited to go once I assured her that it would not hurt. :o)

We get to a kids salon called Lollilocks. It's a super cute place and a pretty fun experience. It was a little sunny standing in the front of the door!

Getting her brushed out without a single tear or complaint. How come that never happens at home? And yes, she's sitting on a pink elephant!

Serious face

She got to pick her "mini-hairstyle" once her hair was cut. She was so proud of it.

Poser...but a cute poser!!

Sophie the Wonder Giraffe

So, I had never heard of Sophie. But thanks to some Facebook posts by my cousin Brook and a mention to my sister, we are now the proud owners of what pretty much amounts to a chew toy. Yep. If you step on it, it squeeks like something the dog would chew on. And Taylor loves it! The thing is pretty cute and it's easy to grab and...chew on.

So Much To Be Thankful For

Thanksgiving this year was a little different but not really. We started out the day celebrating Mackenzie's birthday, then we did turkey day, and then we had birthday cupcakes. Not your typical Thanksgiving. But it was great! Byron's mom and dad were here and we celebrated the day with our good friends', the McIntyre's. Don's mom and dad were also here and we had a wonderful time with lots of food and fellowship!

It wouldn't be a McIntyre turkey if it wasn't fried!!

Getting the bird into the oil...

The men doing the "cooking". It was really cold and quite windy!

Cason's first Thanksgiving...
...and Taylor's first too!

Lena and Mackenzie enjoying some appetizers.

Look at those 2 turkeys!

Birthday Girl

My little girl is 4!! I can hardly believe it. Where has the time gone? She is such a blessing and keeps us on our toes. She is so smart, happy, a great big sister, and just all around great kid! She knows her alphabet, how to spell her name (and write it), her numbers up to 30, numbers up to 15 in Spanish, and her phone number. She is very artistic...she loves to color, play with playdough, sing songs and practice writing. She is so special and I love her very much!

Getting her hair french braided by Gram.

Time for presents!
New wings!
A scooter! The one thing she asked for over and over again!

Little hard to "scoot" in the house!

Blowing out the candles. Yes, it's a cupcake on a turkey plate. We're having a "real" party on Sunday. It's a little tricky having a birthday on Thanksgiving.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

It's official. We have a roller!! Taylor officially rolled over last Saturday. We were ready to go to church when she started "rocking". So I grabbed the camera and got the play-by-play!

Tummy time...

Starting to "rock"...

Almost there...

Kenzie cheering her on...

Success!!!

Growin', Growin', Growin'!

Taylor went in to the doctor for her 2 month check-up. She was actually about 2 1/2 months but it doesn't really matter. What matters is that she is a healthy, growing girl!! She was 24 3/4 inches long which is up 1 1/4 inches and she weighed 13 lbs 7 oz!! That's 2 lbs more than the previous month. She's wearing a lot of 6 month clothes already and is a very smiley girl!

Diaper Changing 101

Mackenzie decided to take her turn with the diaper changing the other night. It was pretty cute! Pretty soon she'll be a pro!!

Can You Ever Take Too Many Pictures?

I think that answer to that question is a resounding "No!!" from the Grandmas in the crowd! So I continue on taking pictures and posting them for you all to see.

Mackenzie loves being a big sister and is always ready to hold Taylor, at least for a little while!

They have matching "big sister" and "little sister" shirts that Auntie Richelle sent.

But it is a very tiring job being a big sister! This happened in a matter of moments right before dinner last week and there wasn't anything that was waking her up!!

Family Photo Time!

With the exception of a photo taken for the church directory over 3 years ago, we didn't really have a decent family photo. Ever. Usually, I'm the one taking the pictures so I'm not in any of them or they are self-taken shots where everyone looks like they have big heads or something is cut off. Not any more!! A few of us got together with our families so we could take each others family photo and it couldn't have worked out better! I'm so excited to have these pictures and they were taken at such a beautiful place. About the only thing I like about fall is the beautiful leaves. They made for a gorgeous background along with Long's Peak. We took a lot of pictures in hopes of getting a few good ones. Here are some of my favorites...Taylor does know how to smile but she wasn't having any of it yesterday!! Oh well, she's still pretty darn cute if you ask me!
