My other "big" girl

Taylor had her one month check-up with the pediatrician on Wednesday. She was a day short of 5 weeks old and tipped the scales at 11lbs 7oz!! Whoa!! She had also grown 2 1/2 inches. Needless to say, she is eating well and gaining nicely. Maybe that will slow down a little now. She seems huge to me but most people still comment on how little she is. But she sure is cute!!

My big girl

As hard as it is to believe that we have a newborn, it's just as hard to believe that we have a 3 3/4 year old. I had the strangest sensation when we brought Taylor home and was intereacting with Mackenzie. She seems like a giant to me! Everything about her seems extra huge~her feet her hands, her fingernails, everything! She also seems extra heavy when I try and pick her up. It's so crazy.

She has done really well with the new baby in the house and is a really great big sister. She has very helpful in being my little gopher and we haven't had any big problems so far. It's been a little tough for me trying to juggle both kids because they always need something at the same time and I can only accomodate one, usually Taylor. So we're working on understanding that Mama can only do one thing at a time and you have to wait your turn. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't! We'll keep working at it.

Anyway, here of some pictures of my sweet Mackenzie.

A visit from Grandpa and Grandma

Grandma and Grandpa Thalgott came for a visit and were here for a little over a week. They got to spend lots of time with the grandkids and I think we tired them out real good! It was a fun time and we managed to fit in quite a few things. They stayed at a hotel called the Discovery Lodge and it was a neat little place. There was a pond, playground, horseshoe pit, fire ring and just a pretty big piece of property. We spent a couple evenings over there to change things up a bit.

Our friends, the McIntyres, joined us all for a cookout one evening but we couldn't cook anything until the guys tried to catch some fish in the pond. They caught a couple, and no, that was not dinner!

At the fire pit cooking up some s'mores. Yummy!!
