Steamboat and Taylor's First Birthday!

Wow! I can't believe I've fallen so far behind! Actually, yes I can. We've been busy! And when there is some down time I forget all about updating the blog. BUT, we had a big birthday around here last week so it's time to share some pictures. We were in Steamboat Springs and it was just us and Byron's mom and dad for the big day. We had a really fun time as you will see from the pictures!

One of many cannon balls over 3 days of swimming!

The guys got in plenty of fishing and did pretty well!

Birthday girl! July 22 was Taylor's first birthday and she's showing off!

Presents!

"Trying on" her new pretty dress from Pap and Gram.

The same stone faced look that Mackenzie had on her first birthday!

See??!!

Getting into the eating. I guess that's the best part anyway. :)

Just some cute pictures

Decorating

So, I'm not exactly the world's best decorator. In fact, I'm pretty lousy at picturing things in my head and having them come put looking nice. However, I think the girls' rooms turned out okay!

This is on the right hand wall in the above picture. Mackenzie and I had fun doing it together.
Couldn't get a decent picture though...

Outside Time

These are the signs at the top of our driveway. Pretty cool names, I think!

Mackenzie standing on some of the rocks in our yard with the scenery behind her.

It was a little sunny...

Deer in the headlights.

This one's a keeper for when she gets married...mean, I know!

Haircut Time!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I walk down the hall to the bathroom (at bedtime, I might add!) and this is what I find these 2 doing:

Yep. That time of year again for a haircut. I must say that Byron is pretty darn tolerant because there were multiple times where you could tell the clippers got caught up in Byron's hair but he let Mackenzie go for it anyway!

I don't have a before and after set of pictures. All I can say was Byron's hair was getting scary long, and now it is back to 3/8". Much, much better....

Wacky Wednesday

Wacky Wednesday was a day at preschool where things were...wacky! The kids got to dress silly and there were all kinds of wacky things at school. Step one was getting dressed in the morning. We went for the hooded shirt...backwards. Leg warmers. Slippers. Tutu...this was really funny because all 6 girls in Mackenzie's class wore their tutus.

Then there was the hair. This is when it's fun to have lots of hair. So we had 5 ponytails with the middle one being a braid. It was pretty funny.

Poser!

Stuck

The weekend after we moved we got dumped on! It started snowing Thursday night and didn't stop until mid morning on Saturday. It was pretty and really wet! I tried getting out of the driveway Saturday morning and it wasn't happening. Because the snow was so wet, my car would only slide sideways rather than go forward. And sliding sideways in the mountains is never a good thing. Byron had to get me unstuck. So, I stayed home.

Moving Day!

We really could not have asked for a better day to move. The weather was beautiful and things went very smoothly~for the most part! A thousand thank you's to Lynda and Emily who took our kids for most of the day and to Rob and Nick who helped with all the heavy lifting and shoving of things through the door. :)

Living Room

Kitchen (with stove in the box)

Taylor's room although not necessarily all her stuff!

Mackenzie's room with only half her stuff!

Our room which kind of acted as overflow for whatever (and some of it is still there!)

The most entertaining part of the day (for me, a little stressful to watch) was trying to get the refridgerator through the front door. Basically the door was too small. Or maybe the fridge was too big. This was the first failed attempt. Notice the draped blanket in an attempt to keep the fridge from getting dinged up.

Back out on the front porch formulating Plan B.

Anyone notice what's different in this picture? It's a little hard to tell. They took off the screen door and the inside door. It barely fit. And the blanket from before? Gone. Oh well.

And, into the kitchen. Only one minor dent. :(

Our first dinner at the new house, thanks to Emily. It was just Kenzie and I. Byron was back at the apartment but I don't remember why. No big deal. There will be many more dinners to come! I'll look forward to posting more pictures when things are more "in place" and finished. It might be awhile!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

While the guys were painting, the gals had kid duty. We were going to try and get some cleaning done but the water wasn't on yet and there were 3 babies to hold! There really wasn't much space to let the babies roam (not that were roaming much yet anyway) but the older kids had plenty of fun running around and checking stuff out.

They sure are cute but you never know what they are up to!! I titled this post based on this picture!
