There were some pretty cool rock formations on the way to Moab from the Grand Canyon. It's kind of bizarre how they just stick up out of the ground while the rest of the landscape is flat.

We stopped at the visitor's center for Arches National Park after we had lunch and found a hotel in Moab.

Taking the sheep by the horns??

Then we decided it was too warm, especially for pregnant 'ol me, to go trapsing around Arches so we came back to the hotel for a swim and a nap.

After naptime we headed out to the park and it was very pleasant outside. I don't know how people visit this place in the summer when the average high in July is 101 degrees! No way!
This is Balanced Rock.

Delicate Arch, probably the most famous and photographed arch.

Byron and Kenzie running up the sand.

Checking out some naturally formed rocks. That would be the builder in him...
